Drivers 'must take precautions during winter'
Car insurance customers wishing to avoid needing help with money during the winter months should take sensible precautions to avoid accidents, one body has claimed.
The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) states that adverse weather conditions likely in the coming weeks and months should prompt drivers to undertake "sensible precautions".
These include ensuring that the car's antifreeze is topped up and that tyre treads have the correct depth.
Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive at Biba, said: "Make sure you're ready, make sure your car's ready so if something does happen then you'll be prepared. But take your insurance details with you and your breakdown details with you."
The finance news follows calculations from the AA which suggest that Friday December 21st is set to be the busiest day to travel over the Christmas and new year period.
Meanwhile, Thursday December 27th and Wednesday January 2nd are predicted to be the busiest day for breakdown services.
