ACT on CO2 to save fuel and money
The Department for Transport are urging new car buyers to make a more informed choice when it comes to choosing their next new car. The Department for Transport (DFT) along with the government and motoring industry are calling for the public to have easy access to vehicle information.
There is a website on which the public can search for details helping them to save money, save fuel/ energy and reduce their CO2 emissions, the site highlights how individuals can act to make a difference. On the website there will be a car search tool that can be used to compare CO2 emissions and annual running costs on all current editions of each make and model. If the public use the ACT ON CO2 search tool, buyers can choose the most fuel efficient cars and see the savings they could be making. At a difficult time for the economy this sort of information will help buyers find the right car for them saving them money and hopefully giving the industry a welcomed boost at the same time.
The ACT ON CO2 website has input from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Department for Transport (DfT) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). It highlights a number of tips for smarter driving, which inevitably enables drivers to save money, fuel and reduce CO2 emissions.
With the search tool, DfT is also launching a new advertising campaign to promote ACT ON CO2's 'save money, save fuel' message.
The campaign website site is available by searching online for ACT ON CO2 or at http://www.direct.gov.uk/actonco2
