Porsche announce it's first Diesel!
Porsche has announced this week it's first diesel the 'Cayenne' off roader.
The Cayenne will be available with a 3.0 litre V6 oil-burner. This unit sourced from Audi is used in their Q7 4x4. The Cayenne with it's 240bhp motor is stated to be capable of achieving 30.4mpg with CO2 emissions of 244g/km. It's 550Nm of means it has instant throttle responce.
The new model by Porsche will have a Tiptronic S automatic gearbox as standard.
The Cayenne's 0 to 60mph performance time has yet to be confirmed but it is believed that it will beat the heavier Q7's ime which stands at 8.5 seconds.
The Cayenne will cost £40,250.
Porsche states that they have stakes in Volkwagen, this means that they have access to a large range of diesel units and they say that they will be looking to develop sporty diesel models very quickly.
